In a decisive Week 1 matchup of the 2026 season, the Buffalo Bills topped the Houston Texans 27-9, setting the tone for their campaign. The Bills' strong performance not only secured a win but also showcased their potential as contenders this year, while the Texans will need to regroup after a rocky start. On the offensive side, C.J. Stroud led the Texans with 179 passing yards, but it was Joe Mixon who stood out in the ground game, rushing for 67 yards. Jayden Higgins contributed significantly in the receiving department, racking up 61 yards, but the Texans struggled to find the end zone, ultimately falling short of their scoring ambitions. Defensively, the Bills were relentless, with Jordan Hancock leading the charge with four total tackles. Dorian Williams made his mark with a critical sack, disrupting Houston's offensive rhythm. The turning point came early in the second half when the Bills' defense stifled a Texans drive, allowing Buffalo to stretch their lead and maintain control for the remainder of the game.
