In a thrilling Week 3 matchup, the Washington Commanders narrowly defeated the Seattle Seahawks with a final score of 33-31, solidifying their position early in the 2026 season. Both teams battled fiercely, but it was the Commanders who came out on top, adding to their momentum as they look to make a statement this year. Seattle's Sam Darnold was the standout performer, throwing for an impressive 379 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. Jaxon Smith-Njigba also shined for the Seahawks, racking up 128 receiving yards, providing Darnold with a reliable target down the field. Despite their efforts, Seattle's offensive prowess fell just short in the end. On the defensive side, the Commanders were able to make critical plays when it mattered most. Jeremy Reaves led the team with five total tackles, helping to stifle Seattle's momentum, while Kain Medrano's interception proved pivotal in shifting the game's dynamics. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Washington's defense held strong, allowing them to secure the win and maintain their edge in the standings.
