In a tightly contested season opener, the Seattle Seahawks narrowly defeated the New England Patriots with a final score of 13-10. Both teams were looking to make a strong statement early in the 2026 season, and the Seahawks emerged victorious in a game that came down to the wire. Drew Lock led the Seahawks' offense with 187 passing yards, showcasing his ability to manage the game effectively. Jaxon Smith-Njigba was the standout receiver, racking up an impressive 122 receiving yards, while Jadarian Price contributed significantly on the ground with 52 rushing yards. Meanwhile, Drake Maye managed to throw one touchdown for the Patriots, but it wasn’t enough to clinch the win. Defensively, the Seahawks were formidable, with Ernest Jones IV topping the tackle charts with eight total tackles and Nehemiah Pritchett adding an interception to his resume. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Pritchett's pick turned the momentum back in Seattle's favor, allowing the Seahawks to control the clock and secure the win. The Patriots' lone sack came from Gabe Jacas, but it was the Seahawks' defense that ultimately made the crucial stops when it mattered most.
