In a tightly contested matchup, the Detroit Lions narrowly defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-10 in Week 2 of the 2027 season. With both teams looking to establish momentum early in the season, every play mattered, and the Lions emerged victorious in this defensive battle. Jared Goff led the Lions' offense, throwing for 172 yards and one touchdown, while Jahmyr Gibbs contributed significantly on the ground with 83 rushing yards. The connection between Goff and his receivers was crucial, but it was a resilient effort that ultimately secured the win for Detroit. Defensively, the Lions made a significant impact, with Ashtyn Davis leading the team with eight tackles, and Levi Onwuzurike adding a sack. However, it was Adoree' Jackson's two interceptions that proved pivotal, halting potential scoring drives for the Buccaneers and turning the tide in favor of Detroit. The turning point came when Jackson's second pick set up the Lions for a crucial scoring drive that sealed the game.
