In a decisive matchup in Week 12 of the 2027 season, the Atlanta Falcons topped the Carolina Panthers with a final score of 35-17. With playoff implications on the line, Atlanta showcased their dominance, securing a crucial victory at home to keep their postseason hopes alive. Michael Penix Jr. was the standout performer for the Falcons, throwing for 242 yards and three touchdowns while also leading the team on the ground with 77 rushing yards. His impressive dual-threat performance kept the Panthers' defense guessing throughout the game. Drake London contributed significantly as well, racking up 71 receiving yards and adding another layer to Atlanta's offensive attack. Defensively, Divine Deablo led the charge for the Falcons with eight total tackles, helping to stifle the Panthers' offensive efforts. Carolina struggled to find rhythm, and a key turning point came in the second quarter when Penix threw two quick touchdowns, shifting the momentum firmly in Atlanta's favor. With the Falcons' defense applying pressure, evidenced by Tyrel Dodson's two sacks for Carolina, the Panthers were unable to mount a successful comeback.
