The Atlanta Falcons walked out of the Superdome with a 25-24 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, surviving a one-point thriller in Week 4. It was a divisional swing game in every sense, with both clubs jockeying for early position in the NFC South. New Orleans led the statistical battle for long stretches but couldn't close the door. Atlanta's margin was a single point, and it held up until the final whistle. Bijan Robinson set the tone for the Falcons on the ground, grinding out a game-high 89 rushing yards and giving Atlanta the steady, clock-draining answer it needed on the road. On the other side, Tyler Shough put together the best passing line of the day for the Saints with 270 yards and a touchdown, repeatedly pushing New Orleans into scoring range. His favorite target was Jordyn Tyson, who piled up 131 receiving yards and looked every bit the Saints' most dangerous weapon. The production was there for New Orleans; the finish was not. Defensively, Kaden Elliss was everywhere for the Saints, leading all players with nine total tackles and adding the game's lone sack. But the swing play belonged to Atlanta rookie safety Billy Bowman Jr, whose interception was the only takeaway of the afternoon and the turning point in a game decided by a single point. With no margin for error, that one extra possession proved the difference. New Orleans out-gained Atlanta through the air and still walked off the loser.
