The Kansas City Chiefs handled business on the road Sunday, beating the Las Vegas Raiders 33-21 in a Week 4 divisional matchup that tilted the early AFC West picture. Kansas City controlled the scoreboard from the middle rounds on, answering every Las Vegas push with points. For the Raiders, it was a night of production without payoff, and the gap in the standings only widened. Patrick Mahomes didn't need volume to do damage, throwing a game-high two touchdown passes and keeping the Chiefs' offense in rhythm when it mattered. Kenneth Walker supplied the ground complement with a game-best 83 rushing yards, giving Kansas City the balance to grind out possessions. Las Vegas had the most productive arm on the field in Fernando Mendoza, who piled up 277 passing yards, and tight end Brock Bowers was the biggest problem for the Chiefs' secondary all evening with 121 receiving yards. The Raiders moved the ball; they just couldn't finish enough of those drives. Defensively, the difference came down to one giveaway. Drue Tranquill's interception was the game's lone takeaway, and it swung possession at a moment Las Vegas could not afford to surrender the football. The Raiders had the individual highlights — Nakobe Dean's 10 tackles led all defenders and Kwity Paye recorded the game's only sack — but neither translated into the stops Las Vegas needed late. Kansas City protected the ball, cashed in on the turnover, and walked out with a 12-point win.
