The Indianapolis Colts walked into Arrowhead and walked out with a statement, beating the Kansas City Chiefs 31-24 in Week 2. It's the kind of early-season road win that reshapes how a division and a conference view a team. For Kansas City, it's a stumble at home before the calendar has even turned to October. Indianapolis, meanwhile, leaves with the sort of blueprint it can run all year. Jonathan Taylor was the story and the strategy all in one, piling up 241 rushing yards to control the tempo and keep the Chiefs' offense standing on the sideline. Kansas City never found an answer, and every Colts possession seemed to begin with Taylor churning out chunks before anyone could set the front. Patrick Mahomes led all passers with 156 yards and the game's only passing touchdown, but the volume simply wasn't there. Xavier Worthy paced the receivers with 63 yards, and outside of that, the Chiefs struggled to stretch the field. Defensively, this was Laiatu Latu's afternoon. The Colts pass rusher recorded a sack and an interception, the two biggest defensive plays in the building and the swing that separated these teams. Drue Tranquill led all tacklers with three stops, a number that tells you plenty about how little time Kansas City's defense spent chasing anyone in space and how often it was simply stuck absorbing Taylor head-on. The turning point was Latu's takeaway, a possession stolen from Mahomes that Indianapolis converted into the cushion it never surrendered.
