In a commanding performance, the Detroit Lions defeated the San Francisco 49ers 37-14 in the Divisional Round of the 2026 season. With this victory, the Lions move one step closer to their championship aspirations while the 49ers see their playoff hopes extinguished. Sam Darnold was the star of the night for Detroit, throwing for an impressive 371 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. Mike Evans was his favorite target, racking up 189 receiving yards and proving to be a matchup nightmare for the 49ers' secondary. The Lions' offensive firepower was on full display, making it difficult for San Francisco to keep pace. On the defensive side, the Lions managed to apply pressure, with Will McDonald IV recording a sack that disrupted the 49ers' offensive rhythm. Despite Jalen Ramsey leading San Francisco with four tackles, the 49ers struggled to contain the Lions' explosive plays.
