In a tightly contested battle, the Minnesota Vikings narrowly defeated the New York Jets 17-15 in Week 17 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard for a crucial win, but it was the Vikings who ultimately emerged victorious. Kyler Murray led the Vikings' offensive charge with 191 passing yards, showcasing his ability to move the ball efficiently. Justin Jefferson was his go-to target, racking up 69 receiving yards to keep drives alive. On the Jets' side, Michael Penix Jr. threw for one touchdown, but it was Breece Hall's 69 rushing yards that kept the pressure on Minnesota's defense. Defensively, the Vikings were bolstered by Harrison Smith, who registered a sack that proved pivotal in stalling a key Jets drive. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Minnesota's defense held strong, forcing a turnover on downs that ultimately sealed the victory. D'Angelo Ponds led the Jets with eight tackles, but it wasn't enough to change the outcome as the Vikings' defense stood firm when it mattered most.
