The Las Vegas Raiders narrowly defeated the New Orleans Saints 29-23 in a tightly contested Week 3 matchup of the 2026 season. Both teams were vying for an early advantage in the standings, making this victory crucial for the Raiders as they continue to establish their identity this season. Offensively, the Raiders found success through a balanced attack. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza threw for a touchdown, while running back Dylan Laube contributed significantly on the ground with 83 rushing yards. The Saints’ Tyler Shough led the passing game with 237 yards, but it was Chris Olave’s standout performance, racking up 111 receiving yards, that kept New Orleans in the game until the final whistle. Defensively, the Saints put up a fight, with Kaden Elliss leading the way with seven total tackles and Chase Young making his presence felt with 1.5 sacks. However, it was the Raiders' ability to capitalize on key opportunities that ultimately decided the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Raiders' defense forced a critical turnover, allowing them to maintain their lead and secure the victory.
