In a stunning display of offensive firepower, the Kansas City Chiefs crushed the Denver Broncos with a final score of 80-37. The season opener for both teams showcased the Chiefs' dominance, setting a high bar for the rest of the league in Week 1 of the 2026 season. Patrick Mahomes was nothing short of spectacular, throwing for an astounding 624 yards and seven touchdowns, making it clear that he intends to make a statement this year. On the other side, the Broncos found some success with RJ Harvey rushing for 94 yards and Courtland Sutton racking up 264 receiving yards, but it simply wasn't enough to keep pace with the explosive Chiefs offense. Defensively, the Chiefs were relentless, highlighted by Chris Jones, who tallied four sacks, and Drue Tranquill, who intercepted the ball four times. The turning point came when Tranquill's fourth pick led to a quick touchdown, extending Kansas City's lead and effectively sealing the game. With this performance, the Chiefs not only showcased their offensive prowess but also demonstrated a formidable defense that could prove critical as the season unfolds.
