In a thrilling season opener, the Minnesota Vikings narrowly defeated the Green Bay Packers 49-42 in a high-scoring affair that set the tone for the 2026 season. Both teams showcased explosive offenses, but it was the Vikings who ultimately emerged victorious in this NFC North clash. Leading the charge for Minnesota was quarterback Kyler Murray, who delivered a stunning performance with 409 passing yards and five touchdowns. He connected frequently with standout receiver Justin Jefferson, who racked up an impressive 285 receiving yards, proving to be a nightmare for the Packers' secondary. On the other side, Green Bay's Josh Jacobs kept pace on the ground with 112 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Defensively, Jalen Redmond made his presence felt with a critical sack, while the Packers relied on Kenny Moore II's two interceptions to try and swing momentum their way. However, the turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Vikings' defense held strong, preventing a game-tying drive by Green Bay and sealing the victory. This matchup showcased the offensive firepower both teams possess, hinting at an exciting season ahead.
