The Washington Commanders secured a hard-fought victory over the Dallas Cowboys, coming out on top with a final score of 16-14 in a tense Week 2 matchup of the 2026 season. Both teams were looking to establish early momentum, but it was the Commanders who came through in the clutch to claim the win. Trevor Lawrence led the Commanders' offense with an impressive 225 passing yards, finding key targets throughout the game. Chuba Hubbard was the standout on the ground, racking up 91 rushing yards, while Cooper Kupp provided a reliable receiving option with 79 yards. The offensive unit's ability to move the ball effectively proved crucial in securing the narrow victory. Defensively, the Cowboys put up a strong fight, with CJ Allen making six total tackles and Mason Graham contributing 1.5 sacks to disrupt the Commanders' rhythm. However, the turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Washington's defense held firm, preventing a late-game drive from Dallas that could have shifted the momentum. Ultimately, the Commanders' resilience on both sides of the ball sealed their hard-earned win.
