In a tightly contested matchup, the Minnesota Vikings narrowly defeated the New York Jets 20-14 in Week 17 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but it was the Vikings who ultimately secured the victory and kept their postseason hopes alive. Cade Klubnik led the Jets with a solid performance, throwing for 219 yards and one touchdown. However, it was Jaylen Wright of the Vikings who made a significant impact on the ground, rushing for 72 yards and providing a crucial offensive spark. Xavier Legette also had a standout game for New York, racking up 106 receiving yards and keeping the pressure on Minnesota's defense throughout the contest. Defensively, the Vikings made key plays that shifted the momentum in their favor. Andrew Van Ginkel was a dominant force with two sacks, disrupting Klubnik's rhythm, while Byron Murphy Jr. sealed the game with a crucial interception in the final minutes. The decisive turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Minnesota's defense halted a promising Jets drive, allowing the Vikings to maintain their slim lead and secure the win.
