In a decisive Week 16 matchup, the Washington Commanders topped the Minnesota Vikings with a final score of 34-19. With playoff positioning on the line, the Commanders delivered a strong performance, solidifying their status as contenders in the league. Jalen Milroe of the Vikings showcased his passing prowess, throwing for 320 yards and two touchdowns. Despite the loss, Milroe's efforts kept Minnesota competitive, while Jayden Daniels contributed on the ground for Washington with 46 rushing yards. The standout in the receiving game was Justin Jefferson, who racked up an impressive 128 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to secure a victory. Defensively, the Commanders made crucial plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Daron Payne was a force on the line, recording 1.5 sacks, while Mike Sainristil's interception proved pivotal in the game's turning point. With the Vikings trying to claw back into contention, Sainristil's timely pick thwarted any hopes of a comeback, allowing Washington to maintain their lead and secure the win.
