In a tightly contested matchup, the Los Angeles Rams narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders 17-10 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. The stakes were high as both teams sought to bolster their playoff hopes, but it was the Rams who emerged victorious, showcasing their ability to execute under pressure. Matthew Stafford led the charge for Los Angeles, throwing for 272 yards and two touchdowns, proving instrumental in the team's offensive strategy. Davante Adams was his go-to target, racking up 94 receiving yards, while Kyren Williams contributed with a solid ground game, adding 45 rushing yards to support the aerial attack. This balanced offensive performance played a key role in securing the win for the Rams. Defensively, the Rams made crucial plays that impacted the game's outcome, particularly with Trent McDuffie's interception that stymied a potential scoring drive from Washington. While the Commanders' Amik Robertson tallied six tackles, the Rams' defense effectively contained Washington's offensive threats, forcing them into difficult situations throughout the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when McDuffie's interception shifted momentum and allowed Los Angeles to maintain control and seal the victory.
