In a thrilling kickoff to the 2026 season, the Houston Texans topped the Buffalo Bills with a final score of 52-37. Both teams entered the game looking to set the tone for the year, but it was the Texans who emerged victorious in a high-scoring affair that showcased their offensive firepower. C.J. Stroud was the star of the night, throwing for an impressive 386 yards and five touchdowns, leading the Texans’ explosive offense. His connection with receivers kept the Bills' defense on their heels, while James Cook III provided some ground support for Buffalo, rushing for 89 yards. Meanwhile, Dalton Kincaid was a bright spot for the Bills, racking up 113 receiving yards in a strong performance. Defensively, the Texans made critical plays that turned the momentum in their favor. Will Anderson Jr. was a force, recording two sacks that disrupted Buffalo's rhythm, while Derek Stingley Jr. sealed the deal with an interception. The turning point came in the third quarter when Stroud threw his fourth touchdown pass, extending the lead and putting the Bills in a position where they had to play catch-up for the remainder of the game.
