In a commanding performance, the Kansas City Chiefs topped the New York Jets with a final score of 40-19 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. This victory solidifies the Chiefs' position in the playoff race while leaving the Jets to regroup after a tough outing. Chiefs quarterback Brodie Croyle was the standout performer, throwing for an impressive 427 yards and five touchdowns, showcasing his ability to command the field. Larry Johnson also contributed significantly on the ground with 103 rushing yards, helping to balance the Chiefs' offensive attack. Meanwhile, Chris Baker of the Jets had a notable game, racking up 152 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Kansas City's explosive offense. Defensively, the Chiefs were effective in limiting the Jets' scoring opportunities, led by Bernard Pollard, who recorded four tackles. The game turned decisively in the second quarter when the Chiefs scored three unanswered touchdowns, creating a gap that the Jets could never bridge. Though the Jets' Eric Barton and Erik Coleman made their mark with two sacks and two interceptions respectively, the Chiefs' relentless offensive pressure proved too much to overcome.
