In a high-octane matchup, the Houston Texans triumphed over the New York Giants with a final score of 47-35, marking a pivotal Week 7 victory in the 2026 season. The Texans showcased their offensive prowess, solidifying their position in the playoff race while the Giants aimed to maintain their momentum in a competitive conference. David Carr delivered a stunning performance, throwing for a staggering 636 yards and five touchdowns, leading the Texans' explosive offense. Jerome Mathis was a standout target, racking up 238 receiving yards and proving to be a constant threat downfield. Despite the Giants' efforts, Tiki Barber struggled to find running room, managing only 18 rushing yards, which underscored Houston's defensive focus. On the defensive side, the Texans made crucial stops to stifle the Giants’ drives, with Von Hutchins leading the way with four total tackles. The turning point of the game came when Carr connected with Mathis for a touchdown late in the second quarter, extending Houston's lead to two scores and forcing the Giants to play catch-up. While Osi Umenyiora managed to sack Carr twice for New York, it wasn't enough to shift the momentum back in their favor as the Texans held on for the victory.
