In a pivotal Week 7 matchup of the 2026 season, the Miami Dolphins topped the New York Jets with a final score of 27 to 17. This victory helps Miami solidify their playoff positioning, while the Jets now face deeper challenges as the season progresses. Daunte Culpepper led the Dolphins' offense with a solid performance, throwing for 225 yards, while the Jets' Chad Pennington managed just one touchdown pass. Leon Washington was the standout in the ground game for New York with 77 rushing yards, but Miami's offensive balance proved too much to handle. Laveranues Coles shined in the receiving department for the Jets, racking up 100 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to swing the game in their favor. Defensively, the Dolphins' Zach Thomas made a crucial impact with an interception that turned the momentum in Miami's favor. The Jets' Eric Barton was a force with 2.5 sacks and Bryan Thomas led the team with 10 total tackles, but the Dolphins' defense ultimately held firm when it mattered most. The turning point came late in the second half when Thomas's pick set up a touchdown drive, sealing the victory for Miami and leaving New York searching for answers.
