The San Francisco 49ers secured a decisive victory over the Seattle Seahawks, winning 35-21 in a Week 5 showdown of the 2026 season. With this win, the 49ers maintain their momentum, positioning themselves strongly in the NFC West as the season progresses. Frank Gore was the standout on the ground, racking up an impressive 169 rushing yards, consistently breaking through the Seahawks' defensive line. Quarterback Alex Smith contributed effectively with a passing touchdown, while Matt Hasselbeck struggled to find his rhythm, finishing with just 109 passing yards. The 49ers' offense operated with precision, taking advantage of their opportunities to build a commanding lead. On the defensive side, Mark Roman was a game-changer for San Francisco, recording two crucial interceptions that shifted the momentum in their favor. The 49ers' defense applied pressure throughout the game, limiting the Seahawks' scoring opportunities and forcing them into tough situations. The turning point came in the second quarter when Roman's second pick set up a touchdown drive, allowing San Francisco to extend their lead and ultimately secure the win.
