The Pittsburgh Steelers topped the Houston Texans 31-9 in a decisive Week 13 matchup that solidified their playoff positioning. With both teams vying for crucial wins as the season winds down, the Steelers showcased their dominance on home turf. Pittsburgh's offense was firing on all cylinders, led by quarterback Ty Simpson, who threw for two touchdowns and helped guide the team to a commanding lead. Running back Trey Benson was a force on the ground, racking up 106 rushing yards, while wide receiver Terry McLaurin torched the Texans' secondary for 140 receiving yards. The combination of effective passing and a strong ground game kept the Texans' defense on their heels throughout the contest. Defensively, the Steelers were relentless, with Payton Wilson leading the charge with 14 total tackles, ensuring that Houston struggled to find any rhythm. The turning point came midway through the second quarter when Pittsburgh’s defense forced a crucial turnover, setting up a touchdown that extended their lead to 21-3. That momentum shift proved insurmountable for the Texans, as the Steelers maintained control for the remainder of the game.
