In a dominating performance, the Minnesota Vikings topped the Detroit Lions 37-7 in Week 8 of the 2026 season. With this victory, the Vikings solidify their position in the playoff race, while the Lions struggle to find momentum as the season progresses. Leading the charge for Minnesota was quarterback Kyler Murray, who threw for an impressive 284 yards and four touchdowns. His connection with star receiver Justin Jefferson, who racked up 138 receiving yards, was a constant threat that kept the Lions' defense on their heels. Running back Demond Claiborne contributed as well, adding 66 rushing yards to the Vikings' offensive output. Defensively, the Vikings showcased their prowess, with Blake Cashman recording a sack and Byron Murphy Jr. snagging an interception. The game's turning point came early in the second quarter when Murray threw his first touchdown pass, shifting the momentum decisively in favor of Minnesota. The Lions struggled to recover, unable to mount an effective response against a relentless Vikings defense that controlled the pace throughout the matchup.
