The Detroit Lions topped the Arizona Cardinals 27-17 in a decisive Week 5 matchup of the 2026 season, solidifying their strong position in the league. With both teams vying for playoff positioning, the Lions showcased their offensive prowess to secure the victory. Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs was the standout on offense, rushing for 112 yards and providing a consistent ground game that kept the Cardinals on their heels. Arizona's Carson Beck threw for 251 yards and two touchdowns, making his mark but ultimately falling short. Despite the strong performance, it wasn't enough to overcome Detroit's balanced attack. Defensively, the Lions made crucial plays, highlighted by Derrick Moore's impressive 1.5 sacks and Jalen Pitre's interception that turned the momentum in the second half. The turning point came in the third quarter when Pitre's interception set up a scoring drive that extended Detroit's lead, leaving the Cardinals scrambling to respond. Arizona's Garrett Williams led the defense with 12 total tackles, but it wasn't enough to halt the Lions' offensive momentum.
