In a dominant performance to kick off the 2026 season, the Green Bay Packers topped the Minnesota Vikings 42-9. With both teams looking to establish momentum early in the year, the Packers made a bold statement, showcasing their offensive prowess and defensive strength. Quarterback Jordan Love was the star of the day, throwing for an impressive 291 yards and six touchdowns, effectively dismantling the Vikings' secondary. His favorite target, Jayden Reed, had a monster game with 148 receiving yards, making crucial catches that extended drives and put points on the board. Meanwhile, the Vikings struggled to find their rhythm, with Kyler Murray managing just five yards on the ground, highlighting the Packers' suffocating defensive presence. Defensively, the Packers were relentless, with Benjamin St-Juste leading the team with two total tackles. Javon Hargrave contributed with a sack, while Ashtyn Davis made a pivotal interception that shifted momentum firmly in favor of Green Bay. The turning point came early in the second quarter when Love connected with Reed for a long touchdown, effectively putting the game out of reach and leaving the Vikings scrambling to respond.
