In a dominant display to kick off the 2026 season, the San Francisco 49ers toppled the Los Angeles Rams with a final score of 58-29. The 49ers came into this matchup looking to establish their dominance early, and they did just that against their division rivals. Christian McCaffrey was the star of the game, amassing an astonishing 407 rushing yards, showcasing his ability to break tackles and explode through the line. Meanwhile, Matthew Stafford of the Rams put up a respectable performance, throwing for 359 yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the relentless San Francisco offense. Darnell Washington contributed with 97 receiving yards, but the 49ers' ground game proved to be the decisive factor. Defensively, the 49ers made their mark with a pair of key interceptions from Deommodore Lenoir, which turned the tide in their favor. Nick Bosa added a sack to his impressive resume, further pressuring Stafford and disrupting the Rams' rhythm. The game-changing moment came early in the second half when Lenoir's second interception set up a touchdown that pushed the 49ers' lead to an insurmountable margin, sealing the victory and setting a commanding tone for the season ahead.
