In a decisive Week 16 matchup, the Arizona Cardinals topped the New Orleans Saints with a final score of 29-17, solidifying their playoff positioning as the season winds down. The win keeps the Cardinals in the hunt for a strong postseason run, while the Saints face mounting pressure to secure their spot. Justin Fields led the Cardinals' offense with an impressive performance, throwing for 292 yards. While the ground game struggled, with Josh Jacobs managing just 38 yards, Fields kept the chains moving effectively through the air. On the other side, J.J. McCarthy made his mark for New Orleans, tossing two touchdown passes, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Cardinals' offensive momentum. Defensively, the Saints made some noise, with Jihaad Campbell recording ten total tackles and Akheem Mesidor notching two sacks. However, the turning point came late in the second half when the Cardinals' defense tightened up and intercepted McCarthy, stalling a potential comeback. This critical play shifted the momentum firmly in Arizona's favor, allowing them to hold off the Saints for the victory.
