In a commanding performance, the Washington Commanders thumped the Los Angeles Rams 42-0 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. With this victory, the Commanders solidified their position in the playoff race, showcasing their dominance on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Cade Klubnik was the star of the show, throwing for 226 yards and an impressive five touchdowns, distributing the ball effectively throughout the game. Wide receiver Jeff Caldwell was a standout target, racking up 112 receiving yards, while the Rams struggled to find any offensive rhythm, with their leading rusher, Taylen Green, managing only 29 yards on the ground. Defensively, the Commanders were relentless, with DeForest Buckner leading the charge. Buckner recorded three sacks and three total tackles, constantly pressuring the Rams' offense and disrupting their plays. The turning point came late in the first half when Derrick Moore intercepted a pass from the Rams' offense, setting up another quick score for Washington and essentially sealing the game before halftime.
