In a closely contested matchup, the Dallas Cowboys narrowly defeated the Arizona Cardinals 20-19 in Week 8 of the 2026 season. The game featured both teams vying for key positioning in the playoff race, making every point critical as the season approaches its midpoint. Jalen Hurts was the standout for the Cowboys, throwing for two touchdowns and showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. Arizona's Justin Fields put up impressive numbers with 262 passing yards, while Brian Thomas Jr. emerged as his favorite target, racking up 96 receiving yards. On the ground, Josh Jacobs contributed with 62 rushing yards, but it was the Cowboys' efficient scoring that ultimately made the difference. Defensively, the game was marked by strong performances but lacked game-changing plays, with Dre Greenlaw leading the Cowboys with half a sack. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Cowboys managed to hold off a late surge from the Cardinals, maintaining their slim lead and securing the victory. Despite the loss, Arizona's defense showed resiliency, with Foyesade Oluokun recording six total tackles and Nick Cross snagging an interception, but it wasn't enough to change the outcome.
