In a dominant performance, the Minnesota Vikings topped the New Orleans Saints 45-24 in Week 5 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications looming, the Vikings showcased their offensive firepower while maintaining their strong defensive presence throughout the game. J.J. McCarthy led the Saints with a respectable 309 passing yards and two touchdowns, but it was the Vikings' balanced attack that proved too much to handle. Breece Hall carried the ball effectively, racking up 89 rushing yards, while Amon-Ra St. Brown emerged as McCarthy's primary target, notching 94 receiving yards. The Vikings' ability to spread the ball around kept the Saints' defense guessing. On the defensive side, Quinnen Williams made a significant impact with two sacks, while Kristian Fulton secured two interceptions, turning the tide in favor of Minnesota. The game's turning point came in the second quarter when Fulton picked off McCarthy, giving the Vikings a chance to extend their lead, which they did, ultimately sealing the victory. The Saints struggled to recover from that momentum shift, allowing Minnesota to maintain control through the second half.
