In a commanding performance, the Los Angeles Rams toppled the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 56-6, kicking off the 2026 season in dominant fashion. The Rams showcased their offensive prowess while the 49ers struggled to find their rhythm, setting a stark tone for the season ahead. Quarterback Taylen Green led the Rams’ offensive explosion, throwing for four touchdowns and connecting effectively with his receivers. Joe Burrow put up impressive numbers for the 49ers with 331 passing yards, but it was Parker Washington who stood out with 135 receiving yards, unable to turn his efforts into points. Meanwhile, Travis Etienne Jr. contributed 63 rushing yards, but it was not enough to keep pace with the Rams’ relentless attack. Defensively, the Rams were a force to be reckoned with, particularly Aaron Donald, who recorded six total tackles and an astonishing five sacks. Julian Love added to the defensive dominance with two interceptions, effectively stifling any chance of a 49ers comeback. The turning point came early in the second quarter when the Rams scored back-to-back touchdowns, leaving San Francisco reeling and unable to recover for the remainder of the game.
