In a decisive Week 18 matchup, the Carolina Panthers topped the New Orleans Saints 32-16, solidifying their position as a formidable contender heading into the playoffs. The Panthers showcased their dominance in this crucial game, effectively controlling both sides of the ball despite a late-season surge from the Saints. Tyler Shough put up impressive numbers for the Saints, throwing for 379 yards and two touchdowns, but it was the Panthers' Chuba Hubbard who made the biggest impact on the ground with 99 rushing yards. Meanwhile, Tetairoa McMillan emerged as Shough’s top target, racking up 122 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Carolina’s offensive balance and efficiency. Defensively, the Panthers made critical plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Devin Lloyd led the charge with eight total tackles, while Jack Sanborn contributed with a sack, applying consistent pressure on Shough. The turning point came when Antoine Winfield Jr. snagged an interception, halting a promising Saints drive and allowing the Panthers to take control, ultimately sealing their victory.
