In a decisive Week 3 matchup, the New England Patriots topped the Jacksonville Jaguars with a final score of 31-17, improving their season record as they continue to assert their dominance in the league. The stakes were high as both teams sought to establish momentum early in the season, but it was the Patriots who emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive prowess. Drake Maye led the charge for New England, throwing for an impressive 306 yards and three touchdown passes, demonstrating both accuracy and poise under pressure. While the Jaguars struggled to contain the Patriots’ passing attack, Chris Rodriguez Jr. made a notable contribution on the ground for Jacksonville, rushing for 79 yards. However, it was Maye's ability to connect with his receivers that ultimately made the difference in the game. Defensively, the Patriots were bolstered by a key interception from Christian Gonzalez, which helped swing momentum in their favor. The Jaguars' defense, spearheaded by Travon Walker’s 1.5 sacks and Jailin Walker’s seven tackles, put forth a solid effort but could not stop the Patriots' offensive onslaught. The turning point came midway through the second quarter when Gonzalez's interception set up a touchdown, allowing New England to extend their lead and maintain control for the remainder of the game.
