In a dominant display to kick off the 2026 season, the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the Denver Broncos with a final score of 45-13. This matchup was crucial for both teams, setting the tone for their respective campaigns as they aimed to establish early dominance in the division. Patrick Mahomes led the charge for Kansas City, throwing for two touchdowns while showcasing his precision and poise. Meanwhile, Kenneth Walker was a force on the ground, racking up 130 rushing yards, and Xavier Worthy added significant firepower with 97 receiving yards. The Chiefs’ offense was relentless, consistently moving the ball and putting points on the board. Defensively, the Chiefs stifled the Broncos at critical moments, with Denver struggling to find rhythm throughout the game. The turning point came in the second quarter when Kansas City's defense forced a pivotal turnover, allowing their offense to capitalize and extend their lead. Although Pat Surtain II of the Broncos recorded five tackles and two interceptions, it wasn't enough to shift momentum back to Denver, as the Chiefs' balanced attack proved too much to handle.
