In a commanding Week 1 matchup of the 2026 season, the Los Angeles Rams topped the San Francisco 49ers with a decisive 41-17 victory. The win not only sets the tone for the Rams’ campaign but also highlights their dominance over a divisional rival right out of the gate. Matthew Stafford was the standout performer for Los Angeles, throwing for 332 yards and three touchdowns while also leading the team in rushing with 70 yards on the ground. His connection with Davante Adams was particularly lethal, as Adams racked up 130 receiving yards, making crucial plays that stretched the field and kept the 49ers' defense on their heels. The Rams' defense played a pivotal role in the outcome, with Aaron Donald wreaking havoc and recording an impressive 3.5 sacks. Los Angeles' ability to pressure the quarterback not only disrupted San Francisco's offensive rhythm but also created opportunities for turnovers. The game's turning point came early in the second half when a defensive stop by the Rams shifted momentum, allowing Stafford and company to pull away decisively.
