In a tightly contested matchup, the Atlanta Falcons narrowly defeated the Detroit Lions 19-16 in Week 13 of the 2026 season. This victory keeps the Falcons' playoff hopes alive as they continue to battle for a wildcard spot in the competitive NFC. Jared Goff led the Lions' offense with a solid performance, throwing for 270 yards and one touchdown. Despite the loss, Goff's connection with Christian Kirk, who racked up 87 receiving yards, kept the Lions in the game. On the ground, Bijan Robinson was a standout for the Falcons, rushing for 126 yards, providing a much-needed balance to their offensive attack. Defensively, Avieon Terrell was a key player for Atlanta, recording seven total tackles to help stifle the Lions' drives. The game’s turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Falcons managed to capitalize on a critical turnover, allowing them to control the clock and secure the win. Derrick Moore's 1.5 sacks for Detroit showcased their defensive effort, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Falcons’ timely plays.
