In a thrilling Week 18 showdown, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers topped the New Orleans Saints 28-20, securing their playoff position in the 2026 season. The stakes were high as both teams vied for crucial momentum heading into the postseason, but it was the Buccaneers who emerged victorious in this tightly contested battle. Quarterback Jalon Daniels shone for Tampa Bay, throwing for 281 yards and two touchdowns, leading the charge for the offense. Bucky Irving complemented the passing game with a strong performance on the ground, racking up 104 rushing yards, while Emeka Egbuka was a key target with 112 receiving yards, making critical catches throughout the game. Together, they formed a potent offensive trio that consistently put pressure on the Saints' defense. Defensively, the Buccaneers were led by Alex Anzalone, who recorded a sack that disrupted the Saints' rhythm at a pivotal moment. Despite Lorenzo Styles Jr. of New Orleans making 11 total tackles, the Saints struggled to contain the Buccaneers' offensive firepower. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Daniels connected with Egbuka for a touchdown, extending the lead and forcing New Orleans to play catch-up, ultimately sealing Tampa Bay's win.
