In a commanding start to the 2027 season, the Denver Broncos topped the Kansas City Chiefs with a final score of 34-13. This Week 1 matchup set the tone for both teams, with the Broncos showcasing their potential as contenders in the league while the Chiefs struggled to find their rhythm. Bo Nix led the charge for Denver, throwing for 295 yards and three touchdowns, effectively spreading the ball and capitalizing on opportunities. Jaylen Waddle was a standout receiver, racking up 168 yards and proving to be Nix's favorite target. Meanwhile, RJ Harvey added a solid ground game with 75 rushing yards, providing balance to the Broncos' offensive attack. Defensively, the Broncos made pivotal plays that changed the game's dynamic. Talanoa Hufanga's interception not only halted a Chiefs drive but also swung momentum firmly in Denver's favor. Chris Cole added pressure with half a sack, contributing to a consistent defensive effort that limited Kansas City's effectiveness throughout the game. The combination of Denver's offensive firepower and defensive stops proved too much for the Chiefs to handle, sealing a dominant season opener for the Broncos.
