In a thrilling Week 12 matchup, the New England Patriots outlasted the Los Angeles Chargers with a final score of 38-31. Both teams entered the game looking to solidify their playoff positions, but it was the Patriots who ultimately emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle. Leading the charge for the Patriots was rookie running back Trey Benson, who rushed for 83 yards and contributed significantly to New England's offensive rhythm. Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert showcased his arm strength, throwing for 289 yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Patriots' balanced attack and crucial plays down the stretch. Brenen Thompson also shone for Los Angeles, racking up 102 receiving yards, yet the team faltered in key moments. Defensively, the Patriots made their mark with Christian Elliss dominating the pass rush, recording three sacks that disrupted Herbert's timing throughout the game. Robert Spillane led the team in tackles with four, consistently making stops to stifle the Chargers' momentum. The pivotal moment came late in the fourth quarter when the Patriots' defense held strong, forcing a turnover on downs that sealed the victory and allowed New England to maintain their playoff push.
