In a decisive Week 18 showdown, the Atlanta Falcons topped the Carolina Panthers 35-21, securing their playoff positioning in the 2026 season. With both teams vying for momentum heading into the postseason, the Falcons proved they are a force to be reckoned with in the NFC. Michael Penix Jr. led the charge for Atlanta, throwing for 273 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with his receivers when it mattered most. Drake London added a strong ground game with 80 rushing yards, while Zachariah Branch was a key target in the air, racking up 75 receiving yards. The Falcons' offensive balance kept the Panthers on their heels throughout the contest. Defensively, the Falcons were able to pressure the Panthers but lacked standout performances in terms of tackles and sacks. Da'Shawn Hand contributed with half a sack, but it was a late-game interception by Mike Jackson that nearly shifted the momentum back to Carolina. Ultimately, the Falcons' strong offensive output and timely plays sealed the victory, allowing them to hold off a late surge from the Panthers.
