In a decisive Week 16 matchup, the New York Giants topped the Detroit Lions 36-14, solidifying their playoff aspirations with a commanding performance. The Giants showcased their offensive prowess, while the Lions struggled to keep pace in front of their home crowd. Jaxson Dart led the Giants' aerial assault with 282 passing yards, connecting effectively with Calvin Austin, who racked up an impressive 140 receiving yards. Cam Skattebo contributed significantly on the ground, amassing 96 rushing yards and helping to keep the Lions' defense on its heels throughout the game. This offensive trio was instrumental in establishing the Giants' rhythm and control. Defensively, the Giants made their mark with a strong pass rush, highlighted by Abdul Carter's 1.5 sacks, which disrupted Jared Goff's rhythm and limited the Lions' scoring opportunities. Cooper DeJean's interception for Detroit briefly sparked hope, but the Giants' defense ultimately stifled the Lions, particularly during a crucial stretch in the second quarter. That moment proved pivotal as the Giants pulled away for a comfortable victory.
