The Detroit Lions topped the Chicago Bears 24-17 in a closely contested Week 12 matchup that keeps Detroit in the playoff hunt. With this victory, the Lions solidify their position in the NFC, while the Bears struggle to find consistency as the season nears its conclusion. Jared Goff led the Lions' offense with 219 passing yards, effectively managing the game and connecting when it mattered most. Caleb Williams of the Bears threw for two touchdowns, displaying his potential but ultimately falling short in the face of the Lions' defensive pressure. Jahmyr Gibbs contributed significantly on the ground, rushing for 57 yards, which helped maintain a balanced offensive attack for Detroit. The Lions' defense played a crucial role in the outcome, with D.J. Wonnum recording 1.5 sacks that disrupted Chicago's rhythm and forced critical mistakes. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when Wonnum's pressure led to a pivotal turnover, allowing Detroit to regain control and seal the victory. Devin Bush's eight tackles provided a solid backbone for the Bears, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Lions' defensive tenacity.
