In a decisive Wildcard Round matchup, the Los Angeles Rams topped the Atlanta Falcons 28-14, securing their place in the next round of the playoffs. The victory was crucial, as both teams aimed to keep their Super Bowl dreams alive in the fiercely competitive 2026 season. Matthew Stafford led the Rams' offense with a stellar performance, throwing for three touchdowns and effectively managing the game. Michael Penix Jr. of the Falcons put up impressive numbers with 269 passing yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Rams' offensive firepower. Zachariah Branch shined for Atlanta, racking up 114 receiving yards, but the Falcons struggled to find the end zone consistently. Los Angeles' defense played a pivotal role in the outcome, with Jaylen Watson leading the charge with nine total tackles and Kobie Turner contributing 1.5 sacks to disrupt the Falcons' rhythm. The turning point came in the second quarter when the Rams scored two quick touchdowns, creating a lead that Atlanta could never fully recover from. Despite a late interception by Jessie Bates III, the Falcons were unable to capitalize, sealing the Rams' victory and advancing them further in the playoffs.
