The Detroit Lions secured a commanding victory against the New York Jets, shutting them out with a final score of 27-0 in Week 3 of the 2026 season. This win boosts the Lions' momentum early in the season, while the Jets face challenges in their quest for a win. Jared Goff spearheaded the Lions' offense with a stellar performance, throwing for 255 yards and two touchdowns. His connection with Amon-Ra St. Brown was particularly lethal, as St. Brown amassed 132 receiving yards, consistently finding space in the Jets' secondary. The Lions' ground game also contributed, but it was the aerial attack that truly set the tone for the game. Defensively, the Lions were relentless, with D.J. Reed leading the charge with eight tackles, while Aidan Hutchinson dominated the pass rush with two sacks. The turning point came when Ennis Rakestraw Jr. intercepted a pass from the Jets, halting any momentum they attempted to build and allowing the Lions to maintain control throughout the game. This defensive performance was key in ensuring the Jets remained scoreless.
