In a tightly contested season opener, the Minnesota Vikings topped the Green Bay Packers 17-13, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting 2026 campaign. Both teams showcased their strengths, but the Vikings managed to hold off a late push from Green Bay to secure the win. On the offensive side, Jordan Love threw for 208 yards for the Packers, leading the air attack, while Taylen Green found the end zone once through the air for Minnesota. Josh Jacobs made a significant impact on the ground, rushing for 104 yards, while Jayden Reed was the leading receiver for Green Bay with 67 yards. However, it was the Vikings’ balanced attack that proved crucial in this matchup. Defensively, the Vikings were relentless, with Byron Murphy Jr. racking up nine total tackles and Andrew Van Ginkel recording two sacks, making life difficult for Love. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Van Ginkel's pressure led to a crucial turnover on downs, allowing the Vikings to maintain their lead and secure the victory.
