The Arizona Cardinals kicked off the 2026 season with a solid 28-16 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. With both teams looking to establish momentum early in the year, the Cardinals proved to be the stronger contender on the road. Carson Beck led the Cardinals' offense, throwing for one touchdown and managing the game effectively, while the Chargers' Justin Herbert racked up 285 passing yards but struggled to find the end zone. On the ground, Omarion Hampton gained 50 rushing yards for Los Angeles, but the real standout was Quentin Johnston, who made a significant impact with 142 receiving yards, showcasing his ability to stretch the field. Defensively, the Cardinals made their presence felt, with Mack Wilson Sr. leading the charge with eight total tackles. Christian Wilkins also contributed significantly, notching 1.5 sacks that disrupted the Chargers' offensive rhythm. The turning point came midway through the second quarter when Wilkins’ pressure led to a critical turnover, allowing Arizona to capitalize and extend their lead, ultimately sealing the game.
