The Los Angeles Chargers topped the Houston Texans 28-20 in a tightly contested Week 9 matchup of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but it was the Chargers who came out on top, improving their position in the standings. Chargers quarterback Joe Burrow had a stellar performance, throwing for two touchdowns while helping his team maintain control of the game. Kyren Williams was a force on the ground, racking up 114 rushing yards, while Jordan Addison made a significant impact in the passing game, leading all receivers with 123 yards. The offensive efficiency of the Chargers proved crucial in securing the victory. Defensively, the Chargers showcased their prowess with a pivotal interception from Tarheeb Still, which shifted momentum in their favor. Houston’s Josh Hines-Allen recorded 1.5 sacks, but it was the overall pressure from the Chargers' defense that forced critical mistakes. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Still's interception set up a touchdown drive, giving Los Angeles the lead they would not relinquish.
