In a tightly contested matchup, the Washington Commanders narrowly defeated the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 20-13. This Week 6 clash was crucial for both teams as they seek to establish momentum in their respective campaigns for a playoff berth. Dak Prescott led the way for Washington, throwing for 256 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to make key plays under pressure. Tee Higgins was his favorite target, racking up 86 receiving yards to help propel the Commanders' offense. Meanwhile, Breece Hall was the standout for the 49ers on the ground, finishing with 56 rushing yards but unable to find the end zone. The Commanders' defense played a pivotal role in the outcome, with Malcolm Koonce recording two sacks that disrupted San Francisco's rhythm throughout the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Washington's defense forced a critical turnover, allowing Prescott and the offense to control the clock and secure the victory. Taylor Rapp led the 49ers' defensive efforts with seven total tackles, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Commanders' strong performance.
