In a tightly contested matchup, the Washington Commanders narrowly defeated the Indianapolis Colts 16-13 in Week 4 of the 2026 season. Both teams entered the game with something to prove, but it was the Commanders who emerged victorious, solidifying their position in the league standings. Colts quarterback Patrick Mahomes showcased his skills, throwing for 264 yards and a touchdown, while Kenneth Walker contributed significantly on the ground with 98 rushing yards. Tee Higgins was the standout receiver for Washington, racking up 95 receiving yards to help propel his team to victory. Defensively, the Commanders were relentless, with John Franklin-Myers leading the charge with three sacks, putting immense pressure on Mahomes throughout the game. Xavier McKinney's nine total tackles helped stifle the Colts' offensive efforts, and it was a crucial defensive stand in the fourth quarter that ultimately sealed the win for Washington, allowing them to hold off a late-game push from Indianapolis.
